Thank you for playing and for your gameplay video! We were inspired by the legend of "Grand-mère Kalle." We believe she was a real person, but her fate remains unclear and has been reinterpreted within Réunion folklore. We're delighted that you enjoyed our version!
Hello fatalbobo! Great scary game. I loved to play :D
Thks!
I will be playing this live, tomorrow 1/29 around 630 PM EST.
Hope you'll like it!
hi! im making horror soundtracks for free , if u intereted contact me , discord: pabloalegria__
Got it! thanks for reaching out.
Good setting, but i felt like the atmosphere wasn't oppressive enough to cause unease, which in turn made the scares less effective. But would like to see the full game nonetheless.
Thank you! We are still working to reinforce this oppressive atmosphere.
This was creepy and terrifying, well done! There is some graphical issues when the character turns or when you walk up the stairs and the next level loads. Other than that, I have zero complaints, keep up the good work!
Thanks! The stairs is our loading zone, we still working on optimization to fix those latency issues.
For being only a demo, this was not too shabby at all! Amazing atmosphere, sequences, scares, etc. The only problem I encountered was the games mouse interpretation or whatever is messed up. My characters camera was skipping all over the place way beyond how I actually moved the mouse in real life. Note my mouse is not damaged or malfunctioning in any way as it works fine in any other first person video games and in windows it works fine. So yeah something is finicky with the games way of interpreting mouse input. Apart from that though which almost hindered gameplay this was pretty good and cannot wait for the full release! Made a video on it. The mouse issue is throughout this whole video.
Many thanks for your feedbacks! Sorry for those mouse issue, It would seem that this is more of a latency issue? I had already encountered this problem when recording or streaming the game on my laptop.
Still you have this problem when to play the game without recording (or without live streaming) ?
It makes zero difference for me, just tested it. Recording the game wouldent make a difference for me due to my system being plenty powerful and this game not being demanding at least from the looks of it. I have played much stellar looking games and faced zero issues. The game does not seem to be lagging fps wise as I am observing the dust particle effects in the first room moving smoothly while my mouse jumps. So it actively at least for me has a issue interpreting the mouse correctly in relation to the in-game player character camera. I am no expert in game development so I have no idea how this issue occurs nor have I experienced it in any other game until this point and time.
I did link the video btw, you should see what I described. The video is at a solid 1080p60fps so the game did not effect anything outside of it which I wouldent expect from this. Again doesnt seem to be framerate related, the game is for some reason is screwing up mouse input.
Allright, thank you very much for taking the time to test it again and to reply to me. Further optimizations are still needed, we hope to be able to fix this mouse issue in the next update.
Hope you manage to fix it! Just yeah beyond playing the game and seeing it happen I have no idea how one would fix it lol. Maybe it is the frame rate but I did watch the particles very closely and yeah they seem smooth regardless. Def test this.
Very cool demo!
Thks!
Now this is what a horror should be like! Dread, tension and unease. Loved every bit of it and wishlisted on Steam. :) Can't wait for the full release! Is there an approximate date? Also, here's my gameplay if you're interested in some feedback:
Thank you for your test and feedbacks. This really helps us improve your experience.
My pleasure. And thank you for working on it and giving us this experience!
I played this demo on Steam and absolutely loved it. Thrilled to see it pop here as well so more people get a chance to try it. The setting is original and the atmosphere is top notch. Can't wait for the rest of the game!
(Also old people are creepy)
Thanks!
An excellent horror game with a heavy, oppressive tension from the very first minutes. You're immediately immersed in the atmosphere, and it works really well.
The game has similar characteristics to those of Emika Games, so if you're a fan of linear psychological horror, that's exactly what KAL has to offer. The puzzles aren't complex and are even quite intuitive, so it's fairly easy to progress. There are a few jump scares (not often, but well placed!) and some work better than others.
TL;DR: short but intense throughout. Well done to the team, I can't wait to discover the full game. This is exactly the kind of experience I'm looking for in a horror game, and you've mastered all the codes! :)
Thanks for your interest HydroGene! Really happy to have done justice to the horror genre we love <3
Great setting for a game that looks promising, starting with the graphics and the introduction to this macabre and disturbing story. The only problem is that when I move the mouse, the game lags and the view shifts a little too much. But apart from that, I'm looking forward to the full game and in the meantime I'm giving it five stars because you're doing a really great job.
If you want, check out my page too. I need some opinions from other creators about my horror game.
Bye, friend :)
Thanks to the feedbacks! Those lags are on our to do List :>
Loved this demo!
The setting is unique, and the mix of Creole folklore with psychological horror creates a really strong atmosphere.
Can’t wait to discover more! Great work, congrats to the team!
Thanks, you're hard working on the full version.
What an unforgettable experience! The KAL demo masterfully sets the stage for a haunting journey rooted in rich folklore and history.
From the evocative setting of a Creole mansion on Réunion Island to the eerie atmosphere woven through every shadowy corridor, this demo pulls you into a world that’s both mysterious and emotionally resonant.
The blend of psychological horror and cultural storytelling is incredibly compelling, and the narrative hooks in a way that makes you want to uncover every secret.
The attention to detail in the environment and lore already hints at a deep, meaningful story ahead.
Cannot wait to see where this goes next!
Many Thanks @Loganou974 ! We're delighted that you enjoyed our experience.
